Pasteles made of Yucca, or cassava are based on the original pastele carribean recipe. The pasteles made from hand grated Yucca are a delicacy, and good ones are a rare find! Yucca Pasteles have a lighter flavor. It takes a lot more work to put together to succulent perfection than other pasteles made in our kitchen, but they are so worth it! We pack this yucca base with pollo/chicken, olives, capers and the typical pasteles herb and spices to compliment the Yucca in flavor. They come frozen and ready to cook in a pot of boiling water with a little salt.
